Founder
With an illustrious background in TV and digital and interactive media at a senior commercial level, including Sky and Associated Press, Carolyn founded the Maze Academy in 2019 after years of witnessing her son struggle to find a school that was the right fit for him. The intense pressure and resulting anxiety that he felt at the school he attended was taking a toll on his mental health and scholastic achievement, so she opted to develop a bespoke curriculum that incorporated a social, emotional support program and chose homeschooling for a while. By removing the social anxieties that he had been experiencing and providing a progressive and flexible curriculum, he began to thrive.
Carolyn believes passionately that all children should have access to educational excellence and holistic support, whatever their background, and MazeOrg CIC is the non-profit arm through which she hopes to contribute to supporting those who could really benefit from this tailored approach to learning in the UK.
mariam Jospeh
Head of Education & SENCo
Mariam is a qualified primary school teacher and SENCo with over 13 years of experience teaching early years and key stages one and two, and holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with Sociology and a PGCE.
Mariam is dedicated to child development and believes in a holistic and specific approach to each child as an individual. Her strategy focusses on building up a strong rapport with both children and parents.
When her son was 4 he was diagnosed with autism, and later with dyslexia and ADHD, which inspired her to qualify as a SENCo and to want to help families, knowing first-hand the struggles parents face raising children with special needs, and how hard they have to fight to receive support.
Mariam has also delivered healthy eating programmes across several London boroughs, and enjoys using her experience to empower parents and to ensure children can reach their full potential.

Bev has been a governor at a deaf school and is excited to be managing the commercials and compliance of MazeOrg, recognising the need to lessen the educational gap in our society.
Beverley is an experienced transaction banking and strategy professional with nearly twenty years of wide-ranging international experience across a range of disciplines including business performance, strategy & analytics.
